01 ABOUT ME
A highly motivated Industrial Designer from the UK, based in China, with experience in manufacturing, concept generation, design development, and engineering.
After graduating from the University of Central Lancashire with a 1st Class Honours Degree, I moved to the south of China to work as an Industrial Designer. During this time, I have been actively involved in a wide range of independent and commercial projects, taking a lead role in creating concepts from a given brief, and developing these ideas into physical and commercially available products. This has developed my skills in design, and has given me incredibly valuable experience in manufacturing that I feel very lucky to have.
With an in-depth knowledge of the principles of Product Design and DFM (Design For Manufacture), I have proven my ability to research and develop innovative products that meet the needs of the end user.

2022 - PRESENT
SHIELD WORKS, C2W GROUP
ZHUHAI, CHINA
Lead Industrial Designer
After just over 2 years at China 2 West Ltd, I moved to C2W group's manufacturing and assembly facility, Shield Works, to help build up the new R&D team built up of designers, and engineers. I took a lead role in managing the design team during this time, as we developed new and exciting designs for manufacture. This mainly focused on Outdoor Garden products such as high-end pizza ovens, tandoor ovens, fire pits, multi-functional ovens, etc., as well as sports equipment products such as Nordic Benches, Transformer benches, mechanical sleds etc.

Live Brief
I was one of seven students selected to work on a paid, live brief to develop concepts for three social spaces of the £32 million Engineering Innovation Centre in Preston.

Industrial Designer/ Engineer
Working in China for over 2 years gave me a huge amount of experience in manufacturing and engineering. During this time, I had been actively involved in a wide range of independent and commercial projects, taking a lead role in creating concepts from a given brief, and developing these ideas into physical and commercially available products such as solar generators, DIY equipment, home appliances, and professional grade pizza ovens. I also worked closely with various factories in China during mass production to come up with solutions to problems caused by manufacturing limitations and tolerances.

I was selected by the Unversity of Central Lancashire (UCLan) to take part in a leadership programme in New York, USA. This involved inspiring talks from leaders such as the mayor of Albany, as well as taking part in various activities to develop my leadership skills.
